Tama, naging controversial na naman ang naging result ng labang Pacquiao vs Marquez at this time sa palagay ko talagang tutuldukan na ng pangyayaring ito ang naganap kay Marquez. I believe the guy deserves to be there on top but he was again robbed of his win over the best pound for pound boxer, Manny Pacquiao. Yes, I am Filipino and we all know that Manny does not hold in his hands whatever decision will be made after the ring of the bell in 12th round but for me, deep in my heart, I knew Juan Manuel Marquez won that fight.
This could be just another feat by someone who is just after the money. This is the way it is for another big fight and another big money for promoters so I guess you could guess whoever it is that could be behind this controversy. I’m not going to say any names but Manny is just another victim here. If he decides to be in the circus, so be it. But of course, he could always choose to be in the right side just like what he always does.
Anyway, talaga naman mahirap para tibagin ang isang champion via some split or majority decision lamang kaya good luck na lang din sa career ni Juan Manuel Marquez. He didn’t show enough galantry in the ring, yes but I personally think his feat was enough to take out Pacquiao and to the least get a split hair-thin line win over the champ.
I guess this is the road for a Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight so there is nothing we all can do about it but just be proud as Pinoys that our champion has won us another great fight. It was again a very very close fight and yes, maybe, what Marquez showed in that ring is not enough to impress the judges. It could be anybody’s game and it so happened that Pacquiao won in the eyes of the judges so for those who are critizing our champ, good luck to you. Just remember he is not the judge, he is merely another player, another boxer who puts his heart in the middle of the ring to make a win.
The minute I saw Manny with that bewildered look on his face and the minute I saw how his wife, Jinky reacted on her own way to show she is praying hard for a win for his hubby. The minute the announcement was done, we all saw it. The look on the face was not as happy as it is when a fighter, a boxer and a champ knows he won overwhelmingly and convincingly. Yes, maybe, just maybe, Manny knew and Jinky knew that it is his time to give in but the judges saw it the other way around. I don’t feel sorry for either fighter, Pacquiao and Marquez because they both did what they can to topple one another just like what is expected of each of them by the fans but that’s the way it is, after the bell rings in the 12th round just like other fights, they no longer hold strong for their future. It’s up to the judges.
There are so many countless possibilities that could have helped influence the result like betting, favoritism, politics in boxing, money for another fight and many more but one thing will remain – “boxers fight judges have the right”.
